I don't get here nearly as often as I wish but it's a state I cherish to relieve stress. Try sitting on Long Sands Beach and listening to the waves and feel your troubles slip away. Explore the hundreds of miles of coastline, stop at places like Wells, Ogunquit, or Portland. Ride along the toll roads in Acadia National park on Mount Desert Island or spend the day in Bar Harbor, taking time for a whale watch on a catamaran. Go inland for beautiful unspoiled forests and impressive Mt. Katahdin. I favor the coastline as I suppose a tourist will but it's the fact that we have no ocean coastline 4 hours inland to speak of. I've tried to get to Maine once a year at least but i've tried to take her beauty home with me in pictures.
